HOW WE CAN HELP

At Rock Hard Excavating, we take pride in all the services we provide our clients. We are a second-generation family business that takes satisfaction in providing our clients with the best professional sewer and water services in Northern Virginia. We provide expert service for Sewer Disconnects, Reconnects, New Sewers, Sewer Cap Off, Sewer Camera Inspections, Descaling, And Hydro Jetting.

A sewer disconnect is necessary when a sewer line is no longer needed, and is disconnected from the main sewer line. Although this is mainly requested before a demolition job or relocation, it may also be necessary before a major renovation to protect the main line from damage. We cap off the lateral sewer pipes leading to the main sewer line and keep them off the sewer lines leading to the main sewer line as close to the property boundary as appropriate. This protects our client’s sewer system and the main line from dust and debris. It also keeps sewage from leaking out during renovations or demolition. We ensure the sewer lines are properly disconnected for a residential home or commercial property

Sewer Reconnect reverses a Sewer Disconnect. This is done when an old sewer system is in working order and can be used with the building that replaced the demolished building or after a major renovation. The cap is sawn off, and a pipe is added to reconnect it to the main municipal line. Rock Hard Excavation will use sewer cameras to inspect the pipes and ensure they are in working order. If the pipes are in working shape, we repair or replace damaged pipes. After the reconnection, pipes are cleared of obstructions using descaling or hydro jetting, as appropriate.

New Sewer System installation requires important steps that are standard but can be varied based on the project’s size, whether residential or commercial. It must begin with a plan that includes marking the alignment, calculating and measuring the elevation and the slope, and excavating and preparing the soil before laying the pipes. Then, the pipes are laid and connected one section at a time. All connections are angled for easy flow. After the pipes pass all tests, we backfill one layer at a time. Installing a new sewer system is an intricate process that requires the knowledge and expertise of trained, experienced, licensed plumbers.

Cap Off is what seals a Sewer Disconnect. There are two main reasons to cap off a sewer system. If a structure is to be built on that spot, the plumbing system needs to be intact. A Cap Off will keep anything from getting in or out of the system during demolition. It protects the sewer system under the property. The second reason a sewer cap Off is important is health and safety. No unsanitary waste can come out of the pipes. An error in this can cause sewage to seep into the water system and cause contamination of the main water lines, not to mention the stench of sewage during the project.

Descaling is removing rust and deposits from the inside of pipes. Scale deposits can cause water flow problems and, eventually, cracks. Using sewer camera Inspections, we can determine where the buildup has accumulated and which process will work best. We offer professional-use products and services only from licensed plumbers. Our effort is to avoid replacing pipes that can be cleaned and save our customers expensive replacement costs. Descaling can add years to pipes, increase water flow, and avoid unnecessary damage or replacements. We aim to save our customers money in the short and long term.

Hydro Jetting is a powerful method of cleaning the inside walls of pipes using a water pressure system. It cleans anything stuck or built up in pipes, including scale, food, grease, hair clogs, and tree roots. Our licensed and experienced plumber knows how to control the water pressure, how much pressure is needed, where and how to enter pipes, and the ability of the pipes to withstand the pressure. Although mostly used on commercial properties, it can be used for private homes. Hydro Jetting is not only beneficial in thoroughly cleaning your plumbing systems, but it also helps prevent future clogs and blockages.

Sewer Camera Inspection is an incredible technology that allows us to see any disruptions in your sewer system in real-time. A professional plumber guides a waterproof camera through your pipes as he observes. The purpose is to pinpoint any problems or potential problems with your sewer system. We can see everything inside your pipes – even down to the type of pipes used and the locations of fixtures and connections. Using Sewer Camera Inspections, we can determine the best repair method and protect your system from impending damage. It saves time and unnecessary expenses.
